Launching a new Founder Forward cohort: New Longevity

Calling API entrepreneurs who are building and innovating for an aging population

Founder Forward in partnership with Prudential Cares is opening applications for a new cohort to take part in an impact day that will include an unrestricted capital of $4,500 and group advising with industry professionals with expertise in marketing, strategy, tech, finance, and more. We are focusing on Asian or Pacific Islander (API) founders who are building solutions in the New Longevity space and are interested in designing for an aging population. If this sounds like you, please apply. We would love to work with you!

Why New Longevity?

According to research by PHI National, by 2028 the long-term care sector will add approximately 1.3 million direct care jobs. These are individuals working as home care health aides, personal care aides, and nursing assistants to the 20 million adults in need of care assistance. Urban Institute research found that approximately 80 million Americans (1 in 5) will be over the age of 65 by 2040. Additionally, PHI National found that the increase in an aging immigrant population, LGBTQ population, and people of color populations highlights the need for cultural competency in direct care workforce innovation.

According to New Economy research, Asian American and Pacific Islander’s (AAPI) have historically played a significant role in the U.S. healthcare system with approximately 8.5% of AAPI working in healthcare. A cohort that focuses on care innovation by AAPI groups, allows opportunity for those who play a large role in the healthcare system as workers to create solutions as founders.

An Impact Day is a half day program designed to allow you to showcase your business and have an opportunity to work through an urgent business problem you may have with an industry professional.

Application information

We are seeking applications from API founders working on a New Longevity business service or product. We are interested in working with founders who meet the following criteria:

  • Building a business solution that is still in the early stages. You are out of the ideation phase, you have an MVP, you are validating your ideas, and you have less than $250,000 in revenue.

  • Building a business solution that is a for-profit entity.

To apply, please fill out the application by Tuesday, April 30. The Impact Day will take place at the end of May.
